The Special Investigation Team (SIT) and Bhiwandi Police arrest Suman Kumari, wife of alleged Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (TET)-2026 paper leak mastermind Bijendra Gupta, from Patna, Bihar. She is the first woman arrested in the case, and is produced before a court in Bhiwandi, which remands her to police custody until July 6. Investigators say they believe she could be a link in an alleged inter-state network that compromised the recruitment examination. They probe whether she was involved in planning or executing the leak, including any role in financial transactions, communication with other accused, or assistance to suspects who are absconding.

Earlier, police apprehend three people in connection with the case during a trap operation in the Kongaon area of Thane district, and recover multiple sets of question papers. Investigators also conduct searches across several states, including Agra (Uttar Pradesh), Bihar, Delhi and Haryana, to trace absconding accused. The reporting states that Bijendra Gupta and close associate Kapil Dahiya are not in custody. Authorities examine electronic and financial evidence, including her mobile phone, bank accounts and digital devices, and assess records to identify how assets were acquired despite a lack of known income. Court proceedings and raids continue as the probe aims to expose the full alleged network.
