The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) and the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) begin a promotion exercise for more than 13,000 civil servants. The FCT Civil Service Commission says the exercise starts on Wednesday and is approved by the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike. Nigerian Eye reports that the promotion exercise is expected to last ten days and covers staff across 150 cadres and grades. The Commission also states that the minister directs the 2026 promotion process to be completed before the end of the year so eligible officers can pursue career progression.

According to the Commission’s announcements cited by the outlets, the promotion is conducted using a computer-based test (CBT) format. Engr. Emeka Ezeh, chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, says arrangements are in place to make the exercise run smoothly and urges candidates to remain patient. The reporting also notes that the use of CBT follows earlier adoption of computer-based promotions, including an exercise conducted in 2024 soon after the Commission’s inauguration, with transparency and efficiency cited as goals.
