The African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA) has announced the winners of its eighth annual AAFCA TV Honors. Hulu’s “Paradise” and “Shrinking” led the awards, with “Paradise” receiving the top prize for best drama. Deadline and Variety report it is the second consecutive year that “Paradise” wins AAFCA’s best drama honor, reflecting repeat recognition for the series. “Paradise,” a post-apocalyptic thriller starring Sterling K. Brown and Shailene Woodley, is noted by both outlets as edging out HBO Max’s medical drama “The Pitt” for best drama.
For comedy, AAFCA also named “Shrinking” as best comedy series. Variety further reports that additional major recognition went to “Love Story,” which won another top category at the ceremony.
Sterling K. Brown repeats as best actor, according to both sources, and the awards overall highlight standout performances and series across drama and comedy for the 2026 television honors. The winners are presented by AAFCA as part of its annual critics’ recognition program.
