In Bhopal, coaching institutes are shifting between hybrid and physical teaching formats as the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) and other agencies continue enforcing fire-safety requirements. Several coaching centres are sealed after inspections find deficiencies, including missing or blocked emergency exits and staircases, expired fire extinguishers, and fire hydrant systems not functioning or not connected to backup generator power. According to reports, the enforcement follows a broader review after a fire incident in Lucknow and inspections of educational institutions serving a large student population.
In recent actions, BMC teams sealed multiple coaching institutes in areas such as MP Nagar, Lalghati, and Indrapuri. Notices are reported to have been issued in phases, starting June 25, with institutes given time to rectify violations. Reports say premises are evacuated and sealed after follow-up inspections find the situation unchanged.
Separately, some institutes that run more than one centre shift students to other locations while preparing layout plans with engineers to meet directions from district administration and BMC. Other centres describe using online portals or apps for live lectures, recorded content, mock tests, and access if students miss classes.
