The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Friday warned that there is a rising number of alleged threats involving schools nationwide. Speaking at a press briefing at Camp Crame, PNP Public Information Office chief Col. Allen Rae Co said authorities have observed an increase in school-related threats but did not immediately release specific data. He acknowledged public concern following recent events involving schools and said the police are coordinating with school authorities, local governments, and other stakeholders to help ensure the safety of students.

In parallel, the PNP said it and the Department of Education (DepEd) are stepping up measures to monitor violence and related incidents in schools. The PNP also urged the public to verify information and reports, particularly those circulating online, amid the uptick in alleged threats. Overall, the announcements emphasize coordination across agencies and caution to prevent misinformation from escalating public fear. The PNP’s guidance focuses on safety efforts while monitoring and responding to credible concerns involving schools.
