Ashok Leyland says it has partnered with Rosmerta Recycling to expand end-of-life scrappage for old commercial vehicles across India. Under the arrangement, Ashok Leyland uses its nationwide dealer network to help customers access Rosmerta Recycling’s authorised scrappage facilities, described by the company as Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facilities (RVSFs). The partnership is set up to provide an end-to-end scrapping process, including assistance with vehicle de-registration and other required statutory documentation.

Ashok Leyland links the initiative to the central government’s voluntary vehicle modernisation programme, which encourages replacement of older, more polluting vehicles with newer, cleaner and more efficient alternatives. Rosmerta Recycling is described as a Gurugram-based operator that dismantles vehicles in a manner intended to be safe, compliant and environmentally responsible, while maximising material recovery and supporting a circular economy.

Business Line adds that the partnership also offers customers benefits such as competitive value for old vehicles, scrappage-linked OEM discounts on new purchases, and waivers on road tax and registration fees, while Business Standard focuses on access to facilities and the administrative support for deregistration and documentation.
