Global tensions sharpened today as Donald Trump used the NATO summit in Ankara to declare the Iran ceasefire effectively dead after fresh U.S. strikes and reported Iranian retaliation against American-linked bases in the Gulf. The same summit exposed another diplomatic fault line, with Denmark insisting Greenland is not for sale and warning it is prepared to defend the Arctic territory after Trump revived calls for U.S. control. In Britain, regulators turned inward, hitting Virgin Media with a record £28 million fine for allegedly trapping customers in contracts by mishandling cancellation calls over several years. The UK also revisited one of its most haunting miscarriages of justice, granting a conditional posthumous pardon to Ruth Ellis, the last woman executed in the country. In the United States, former Wisconsin judge Hannah Dugan avoided prison but was fined for obstructing an ICE arrest at her courthouse.
