An elderly man in his 70s dies after being trampled by cattle while walking at the National Trust’s Felbrigg Hall Estate near Cromer in Norfolk. Emergency services are called to the parkland at Felbrigg Hall shortly before midday on Monday after the man suffers serious injuries. Paramedics attend, but he dies at the scene. Norfolk Police say an investigation is underway and is carried out alongside the Health and Safety Executive. The police confirm that the man’s next of kin are informed. The National Trust also says the site is closed following the incident and that a closure notice is in place. The Independent reports the estate remains closed following the death. The National Trust declines to provide further comment while the investigation continues. Felbrigg Hall is described as a 17th-century estate that includes a lake and about 520 acres of woods. The incident is treated as a matter for police and health and safety authorities as they establish what happened.
