The Bureau of Customs (BOC) of the Philippines and the Israel Customs Directorate sign a joint action plan to establish customs and trade facilitation between the two countries. The agreement is part of negotiations for an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA), which aims to recognize trusted traders from both sides and streamline cross-border clearance.
The BOC says the joint action plan, signed on July 13, outlines the timeline, activities, and responsibilities for carrying out discussions and implementing the eventual arrangement. The BOC describes expected outcomes including faster and more efficient customs clearance for accredited exporters and importers, and fewer “unnecessary inspections” for qualified companies.
Both sides also indicate the arrangement is intended to strengthen supply chain security while promoting trade and investment. The deal is formally signed by BOC Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno and Israel Customs Directorate Director General Kfir Hen.
