Cebu Pacific says it is partnering with Starlink, the satellite internet service operated by Elon Musk’s company, to bring Wi‑Fi connectivity to its flights. The Philippines-based low-cost carrier, led by Gokongwei, plans to begin rolling out the inflight system in 2027. The company will deploy the service across more than 1,000 aircraft in its fleet, using Starlink to provide internet access during flights.

Both outlets report that Cebu Pacific will become the first low-cost carrier in Southeast Asia to introduce Starlink inflight Wi‑Fi. Rappler notes that the airline expects improved connectivity compared with conventional inflight Wi‑Fi services.

Cebu Pacific says the rollout will involve aircraft operated by airlines associated with Arizona-based private equity firm Indigo Partners LLC, an investor in Cebu Pacific and in other airlines including Frontier Airlines, Wizz Air, Volaris, and JetSMART. Cebu Pacific officials have not indicated additional timeline details beyond the 2027 start date.
