Bengaluru police say they have busted an alleged large-scale land grab attempt involving a trust’s property, with arrests of multiple suspects over the use of forged documents. According to the police accounts cited by both outlets, the accused allegedly created and used fake revenue and personal records to support a claim of ownership over land belonging to the trust. The documents reportedly include forged genealogy records, death certificates, grant certificates and other records used in property revenue processes.
The alleged fraud focuses on six acres of land connected to a larger grant. One report says the accused allegedly sought to establish ownership over six acres out of land granted to the trust, while another describes an attempt to mutate six acres out of a 45-acre grant and to encroach upon it. Investigators frame the case as a ₹100-crore land fraud, and both sources indicate that police have arrested suspects in connection with the case.
While the exact number of arrestees differs between the two reports, both describe the same core allegation: a planned attempt to change records and claim trust land through document forgery.
