Chris Ferguson, producer behind indie horror titles including “Backrooms,” “Longlegs,” and “The Monkey,” has signed a first-look deal with Warner Bros. Picture Group through his Vancouver-based company Oddfellows. Multiple outlets report that the pact gives Warner Bros. the first opportunity to develop projects produced by Oddfellows.

The deal is tied to Warner Bros.’ new specialty label Clockwork, which is led by former Neon executive Christian Parkes. Deadline and Variety also note that other former Neon executives involved with Oddfellows—Christian Parkes, Jason Wald, and Spencer Collantes—are now part of Clockwork at Warner Bros. Variety adds that Oddfellows plans to produce “modestly budgeted” films for Clockwork.

The reporting also links the agreement to Ferguson’s recent collaborations with Osgood Perkins on “Longlegs” and “The Monkey,” which were produced under Oddfellows. The outlets describe the arrangement as a continuation of Ferguson’s genre-focused output within Warner Bros.’ expanding specialty structure.
