The screenplay is written by Tom Wilton, and Wilton is also attached to direct, according to reports. Wright has spoken about the intention to include “hard-hitting” moments while ultimately offering “hope and joy.” Sources also highlight that the narrative spans his upbringing on a housing estate and the influence of key figures around him.
In addition to his playing career—highlighted by his role as Arsenal’s second-highest scorer and England striker—Wright is known for later work in television punditry.
