Vice President Kashim Shettima says President Bola Tinubu is most displeased when the late former President Muhammadu Buhari is criticized. Shettima makes the remark while delivering the president’s keynote address at the Agric, Development, and Investment Summit in Abuja on Wednesday. According to Shettima, Tinubu does not engage in blame games and instead is ready to take responsibility for actions taken under his administration. He frames his comment around the idea that “the buck stops” with Tinubu regarding the outcomes of his government’s decisions. The vice president also points to economic changes during Tinubu’s term, saying foreign reserves have risen from less than $4 billion to over $50 billion, described as the highest level in 17 years. He acknowledges that Nigeria still faces challenges including inflation and insecurity, but says the government is working to address them rather than giving up. Shettima characterizes Tinubu’s approach as decisive, describing him as a “game changer” focused on repositioning the economy.
