Apple is increasing the cost of some AppleCare+ subscription plans for new Mac and iPad customers in the U.S., according to multiple outlets citing Bloomberg. The change affects the individual monthly AppleCare+ subscription plans for eligible Macs and iPads, which rise by $0.50 per month. Annual AppleCare+ plans for those devices increase by $5 per year. The price adjustment applies to customers who start new AppleCare+ subscriptions; existing AppleCare+ subscribers keep the pricing they currently pay.
Bloomberg also frames the move as part of broader cost pressures, including a global memory shortage and rising component costs. The reports note that Apple has previously raised prices for iPhone AppleCare+ plans by $0.50 in early 2025, and may introduce further increases when new iPhones launch.
Separately, MacRumors reports that Apple has not increased the price of AppleCare One, which bundles coverage for up to three Apple devices for a flat monthly fee. The AppleCare+ changes therefore target specific subscription levels for new Mac and iPad plans rather than all Apple coverage products.
