Jensen International Automotive (JIA), the company behind the Jensen brand’s revival, announces a new Interceptor model: the Interceptor GTX. Sources describe the GTX as an all-new, track-only supercar intended to preview a broader set of future Interceptor variants with different levels of road usability. JIA says the car’s body and chassis use aluminium construction, and power comes from a supercharged V8 engine that the company has previously described as a bespoke unit. Multiple reports also point to a “fully analogue driving experience,” with indications that the car will use a manual gearbox and physical controls rather than relying on extensive electronic driving systems.

JIA has not published a confirmed debut date, but comments from managing director David Duerden suggest the unveiling could align with the 60th anniversary of the original Interceptor’s unveiling, with the wraps potentially coming off by the end of the year. The announcement positions the GTX as the first new Jensen since the 2001 S-V8. Reporting also notes involvement from Jeff Qvale, the son of Kjell Qvale, described by JIA as a key partner in the project.
