Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) launches a Gemini Experience Centre (GEC) in Kolkata in collaboration with Google Cloud to showcase artificial intelligence-led innovations for consumer businesses. The new facility is built using Google Cloud and Google’s Gemini models and is TCS’s third such centre in India, following earlier launches in Chennai and Bengaluru. TCS says the Kolkata centre is designed to help enterprises in sectors including retail, consumer packaged goods, and travel, tourism and hospitality co-create, test, and scale AI-led solutions. The centre demonstrates “agentic” AI-enabled capabilities across areas such as store operations, supply chain management, omni-channel retail, and customer service. TCS also plans co-innovation workshops for businesses using these technologies. In its global expansion plans, the company says it intends to set up 10 Gemini Experience Centres worldwide by the end of 2026, including four in India. The outlets reporting the event focus on the partnership with Google Cloud, the Kolkata location, and the role of the centre as an industry-focused AI innovation and demonstration hub.
