The government-appointed administrator of Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po outlines a refund approach for owners displaced by a major fire that affected one of Hong Kong’s deadliest housing incidents in decades. According to multiple reports, Hop On Management—appointed after the owners’ board is dissolved—discloses the current status of estate-related funds and renovation payments in resident sessions held via Zoom.

The administrator says approximately HK$180 million has already been paid to parties involved in the estate’s renovation project, while the remaining HK$127 million is intended to be refunded to affected owners. The disclosures are presented as part of planned estate arrangements following the fire.

However, sources also note that a general meeting for owners has not yet been scheduled to allow residents to vote or decide on broader estate matters. Residents have been provided with at least two Zoom sessions to receive updates and information from the administrator. The reports focus on the proposed refund figure, the handling of renovation-related payments, and the pending next step of owner deliberation through a general meeting.
