The government is set to table two previously introduced bills and introduce five additional measures during the Eighth Session of the Eighteenth Lok Sabha, ahead of Parliament’s Monsoon Session running from July 20 to August 13. Officials said the session prioritises the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, and the Viksit Bharat Shiksha Adhishthan Bill, 2025, which has been referred to a Joint Committee. The government also plans to move the Income-tax (Amendment) Bill, 2026 and the Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Amendment Bill, 2026, both intended to replace existing ordinances. Additional bills expected to be taken up include amendments to the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act.

Ahead of the session, the government convenes an all-party meeting on July 19 to outline its agenda. Opposition leaders are meeting on July 20 to coordinate their joint strategy on the legislative programme and other issues they plan to raise. Opposition figures indicate they will oppose measures such as proposed Delimitation and the Viksit Bharat Shiksha Adhishthan bill, along with amendments related to FCRA and the NFSA, and are expected to raise issues including the NEET-UG paper leak case and remarks linked to Operation Sindoor.
