An Ayodhya court grants 39-hour police remand to Ram Shankar Yadav (also known as Tinnu Yadav) and Manish Yadav in connection with an alleged Ram temple donation scam, according to reports. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) plans to question both accused during custodial interrogation to determine how donations made by devotees to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple were allegedly embezzled and to trace the alleged flow of funds.
Investigators say the questioning will involve confrontations with statements from co-accused, examination of financial records, and review of digital evidence and other material collected during the investigation. The SIT is also looking into alleged handling of temple donation boxes and related movement of money as the probe progresses toward completion.
Other accused in the case have also previously been taken for custodial interrogation as part of the same investigation, the reports add. In addition to the ongoing legal process, the case has drawn political reactions, with some criticism reported directed at the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, though the remand order itself pertains to the investigation.
