The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) is seeking an independent, time-bound Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the death of Bollywood actress Sanchita Ugale. AICWA president Suresh Shyamlal Gupta met Maharashtra Minister of State for Home Yogesh Kadam and submitted a request for an impartial inquiry into the circumstances of Ugale’s death, aiming to ensure that all aspects of the case are thoroughly investigated and that the truth is brought before the public. According to reports, Kadam responded by directing the Mira-Bhayandar Police Commissioner to initiate a detailed investigation and submit a comprehensive report to the state government at the earliest. Ugale, aged 22, was found dead at her residence in June. Her family and colleagues have raised concerns and questioned the circumstances surrounding her demise, prompting calls for a more detailed and independent probe. AICWA said it supports Ugale’s family in their pursuit of justice and will cooperate with authorities as the investigation proceeds.
