The Chicago Sky again postpones the opening of its new practice facility in Bedford Park. After Friday’s morning shootaround, general manager Jeff Pagliocca says November is the revised target date. The team previously projected earlier openings for the Bedford Park facility, which broke ground in October 2024 and was initially expected to be ready before the 2026 season.

Both reports attribute the delay to construction issues connected to winter storms, which affected progress. In addition, the Sky points to changes to the facility’s interior plans. The Athletic reports that the scope is expanding, with updated interior requirements and a larger overall building size contributing to the revised schedule.

Sky president and CEO Adam Fox has also previously discussed how storm-related construction delays factor into the timeline. With the latest update, the Sky maintains a near-term target for completion in November, while continuing to adjust plans as the project develops.
