The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters reports nearly 200 mm of rainfall in the Seoul metropolitan area and eastern Gangwon Province between midnight and 10 a.m., including 192.5 mm in Paju, 189.5 mm in Dongducheon, 179 mm in Pocheon, 166.5 mm in Gimpo, and 159.5 mm in Cheorwon. As of late morning, heavy-rain alerts remain for 10 areas in Gangwon, and a mudslide warning is in place for Pocheon.
Authorities receive reports of damage including flooded homes and roads as well as fallen trees and debris, totaling about 540 cases. No casualties are reported, but 95 people from 44 households across six cities are temporarily evacuated as a precaution. In Seoul, flood warnings and advisories are issued for multiple wards, and mudslide alerts extend across the metropolitan area. The city closes both directions of the Dongbu Expressway along the Jungnang Stream due to heavier-than-expected rainfall. National parks and hiking paths are also closed, and several west-coast ferry routes are suspended. Forecasts indicate continued heavy rain through Sunday, with rainfall intensity potentially reaching up to 300 mm per hour in some areas.
