Music composer and singer Tanishk Bagchi says he has not yet received ₹8 lakh in royalties for the “Saiyaara” title track, which he says has performed strongly across streaming and view platforms. In a social media post that he later removed, Bagchi described the amount as “peanuts” compared with the effort, time and personal sacrifices he made to produce the song. He also said the upfront payment he received was used for live recording and mixing, leaving him with little additional financial gain. Bagchi stated the track was his first collaboration with Yash Raj Films (YRF) and said he would be more selective about future partnerships.
In response, YRF said royalties for the “Saiyaara” title track have been shared and will continue to be shared equally between the three composers—Bagchi, Faheem Abdullah, and Arslan Nizami—according to the terms of their agreement. YRF further said it has paid every collaborator their due within mutually agreed terms and timing. Sources also note that the lyrics are by Irshad Kamil and that Faheem Abdullah is among the singers and co-composers of the track.
