The Department of State Services (DSS) rescues Professor Samuel Okunsebor, a lecturer and Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), after he is abducted by gunmen. Multiple reports say the professor is taken from Mile Uku, a boundary community between Lafia and Nasarawa Eggon local government area. One account states the attack occurs at midnight on Wednesday. DSS operatives later locate and recover him through intelligence-driven operations, with reports placing the rescue at about 3pm on Friday. After the rescue, DSS hands the professor to his family in the presence of senior university officials, including the deputy vice-chancellor. He is then taken to the Federal University of Lafia Teaching Hospital for medical evaluation and routine checks. The reports also say the DSS arrests suspects in connection with the abduction, with at least two individuals named as being in custody. The university and DSS officials are reported to be coordinating following the incident, and the professor’s condition is assessed at the hospital.
