Senator Olajide Ipinsagba, representing Ondo North Senatorial District, says the All Progressives Congress (APC) has no “viable” opposition in Ondo State as the country moves toward the 2027 general elections. Speaking in Ikare-Akoko, the headquarters of Akoko North-West Local Government Area, Ipinsagba—who recently emerged as the APC candidate for the Ondo North senatorial seat—told party supporters that the APC is positioned to win at presidential, senatorial, and House of Representatives levels across the state. He attributes the party’s strength to what he describes as strong performances by APC candidates and to President Bola Tinubu’s national transformation agenda. Ipinsagba says Tinubu’s achievements have weakened opposition candidates, and he argues that Tinubu’s reelection is likely. He also challenges attendees to name a credible opposition candidate who could defeat APC nominees in Ondo. Other APC figures at the event, including former Deputy Speaker Fatai Olotu and Mopelola Salami, call for internal party unity and express confidence about APC victories, with Ipinsagba thanking Tinubu, the Minister of Interior Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and party leaders for support during the primaries.
