Music composer Tanishk Bagchi says he has not yet received ₹8 lakh in royalties for the “Saiyaara” title track. Bagchi publicly shared his claim, stating that the amount he received does not reflect his contribution to the track and implying the royalties are overdue. In response, Yash Raj Films (YRF) issued a clarification, saying the royalty arrangement for the song is governed by contract. YRF states that “Saiyaara” is a collaborative work involving three composers—Tanishk Bagchi, Faheem Abdullah, and Arslan Nizami—and that royalties are divided equally among them. YRF adds that all payments due to collaborators have been made in line with the contractual terms and the agreed-upon distribution. After YRF’s response, reports say Bagchi deleted his social media post that mentioned the ₹8 lakh royalty claim. The dispute centers on differing interpretations of what is owed versus how payments were executed under the contract.
