Hull City are reported to be in negotiations to sign Aston Villa winger Leon Bailey as the club prepares for its return to the Premier League. Multiple reports say discussions have taken place in recent days between Hull, Aston Villa and Bailey’s representatives regarding a potential summer transfer. Hull are exploring a deal to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming season and are seeking to secure Bailey on a permanent basis.

Bailey is described as being outside Aston Villa manager Unai Emery’s plans, with Villa looking to sell him as they reshape their squad. Interest in the player is said to extend beyond Hull, including from clubs such as Trabzonspor in Turkey and Celta Vigo in Spain. Reports also indicate Bailey would prefer to remain in England.

The 28-year-old joined Aston Villa from Bayer Leverkusen in 2021. He has made 163 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 23 goals and providing 25 assists. His most recent season was affected by injury after he joined Roma on loan, limiting his playing time before Villa recalled him in January and he later made 13 Premier League appearances.
