APC Chieftain Refutes Claims Tinubu, Oyetola Abandoned Osun Gov Candidate

A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has dismissed reports alleging that President Bola Tinubu and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, have abandoned the party’s governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the August 15 election.Speaking in Ibokun during a campaign tour of communities in the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, Oyintiloye described the claims as “false” and the handiwork of opposition elements bent on sowing division within the APC.He stressed that both Tinubu and Oyetola remain committed to the party’s success in Osun, providing leadership and strategic support to ensure victory. “President Tinubu and our leader, Oyetola, have never relented in their support for Oyebamiji. Anyone suggesting otherwise is spreading falsehood to mislead the public,” he said.Oyintiloye highlighted the efforts of party leaders including Chief Bisi Akande, National Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru, and State Chairman Tajudeen Lawal, noting that they are working tirelessly to secure victory. He urged members to intensify grassroots mobilisation, engage voters, and showcase the achievements of Tinubu and Oyetola alongside Oyebamiji’s development agenda.He also cautioned the opposition against violence and intimidation, insisting that the election must be issue-based and conducted peacefully. “The election will not be won only on social media. We must continue to engage our people at the grassroots, visiting every community, polling unit and household with our message of hope and responsible governance,” he added.Oyintiloye expressed confidence that the APC will reclaim Osun, describing Oyebamiji as a leader with the experience and vision to drive development. He called for unity among party members, stressing that “the victory of Oyebamiji is a collective project” backed by Tinubu, Oyetola, and the people of Osun.
