A tourist from Vijayapura in Karnataka is reported to have been seriously injured after falling about 40 feet during a zipline ride at a resort in Dandeli, in Uttara Kannada district. Multiple outlets report that the incident occurs on July 3 while the man, identified as Kuber Surpur, was visiting Sterling River Resort with family members. The fall results in multiple fractures, and at least one report also mentions nerve damage. After the accident, the tourist receives initial treatment at a local facility and is later moved for further medical care, according to one outlet.

The tourist’s family alleges negligence, citing an alleged failure of safety mechanisms or safety lock during the ride, and also claims the resort did not follow safety protocols. Family members further allege the resort does not honour a promise to cover the man’s medical expenses. The resort manager acknowledges that the incident occurred but denies that staff negligence caused the accident, according to one report. A viral video of the incident also circulates online, as noted by one outlet.
