Commerce ministry data show India’s exports rise in the first two months of FY27 (April–May 2026-27), with accelerated growth in regions beyond North America and Europe. Total exports of goods and services during April–May FY27 are estimated at USD 162.69 billion, up 14.66% year-on-year. Exports to ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) increase 66.9% to USD 10.5 billion from USD 6.3 billion a year earlier. Shipments to Africa grow 53.1% to USD 9.6 billion from USD 6.3 billion. Together, ASEAN and Africa add more than USD 7.6 billion in exports compared with the same period of the previous fiscal.

Other destinations also record gains, though at lower rates. NAFTA (US, Canada and Mexico) remains India’s largest export destination, with exports up 2.6% to USD 19.3 billion. Exports to Europe rise 4% to USD 17.0 billion. North East Asia expands 30.7% to USD 8.3 billion, while South Asia grows 40.2% to USD 6.1 billion. Overall, the data indicate that regions outside North America and Europe contribute more than half of India’s exports.
