President Bola Tinubu appoints three indigenes from Oyo State to the Surveyors Council of Nigeria. Moshood Akinwande is named as President of the council. The other appointees are Olusoji Adeoye and Olaribigbe Shiyanbola, who are listed as council members representing Oyo State.
The appointments are confirmed in a letter signed by Ibrahim Abubakar, Permanent Secretary of the General Services Office, on behalf of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume. The letter states that the new council members are scheduled to be inaugurated on Tuesday, 21 July 2026, at the SGF’s Hall, Shehu Shagari Complex, Three Arms Zone, Abuja.
Akinwande is described as a retired director in the Office of the Surveyor-General of the Federation and is from Oyo town. Adeoye currently serves as the Surveyor-General of Oyo State. Shiyanbola, from Ipapo in Itesiwaju Local Government Area, is noted as a former Oyo State Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors and a past Secretary of the Board of Fellows of the institution. One report also notes that the council’s membership reflects multiple interest groups, including professional, academic, and military representation.
