Samsung Biologics has announced plans to acquire Switzerland’s PolyPeptide Group for about 1.46 billion Swiss francs (roughly $1.8 billion) in an all-cash transaction. The offer is structured as a public tender offer for 100% of PolyPeptide’s fully diluted share capital, excluding treasury shares, at CHF 44.31 per share. Multiple outlets report that the bid values the deal at approximately CHF 1.46 billion and is intended to broaden Samsung Biologics’ presence beyond antibody-focused operations, including into peptide therapeutics. The bid includes reference to a premium versus PolyPeptide’s unaffected closing price prior to acquisition-related rumors that began in April, with one source citing a 40% premium.

Samsung Biologics says the deal supports its broader multi-modality strategy and global network expansion. PolyPeptide’s board unanimously recommends that shareholders accept the offer, and its largest shareholder—holding about 55.7%—has agreed to tender its shares. Closing is expected toward the end of 2026, subject to shareholder approval, regulatory clearances, and customary conditions, including the requirement for at least a two-thirds acceptance rate.
