Karur Vysya Bank shares rise more than 9% following the lender’s Q1 results, which show a 45% year-on-year increase in net profit. Reports say the bank records Q1 net profit of ₹756 crore, described as a record level. The increase is attributed largely to growth in net interest income, which expands by about 32% to ₹1,423 crore, compared with ₹1,080 crore in the year-ago quarter. Alongside this, the bank’s interest earnings improve in quality, with net interest margin (NIM) moving up to 4.34% from 3.86% a year earlier.

While the market reaction is positive, one outlet notes that the bank maintains a cautious but moderate growth outlook for FY26–27. Together, the coverage links the share jump to stronger profitability and improved interest-related metrics in the quarter, while also indicating that forward-looking guidance does not signal an aggressive expansion plan.
