Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Director-General of Media and Communications to Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, makes public accusations against Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) chieftain Engr. Buba Galadima during a radio programme in Kano. Bature describes Galadima as a political opportunist who has contributed little to strengthening political movements and says Galadima builds influence by aligning with different presidential candidates over the years rather than developing any durable political structure.
Bature also argues that Galadima’s activities have negatively affected the political fortunes of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement. He claims Kwankwaso’s career has suffered setbacks that are linked to Galadima, and he portrays Kwankwaso as moving between parties as a result.
In addition, Bature revisits the political trajectory of late former President Muhammadu Buhari, asserting Buhari succeeded after distancing himself from Galadima and similar figures and forming an alliance with Bola Tinubu. He further dismisses Galadima’s influence, calling him a “political wanderer” and saying he has failed to make meaningful impact even in his hometown of Bade.
