CD Projekt Red confirms it will show new information and footage for The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past during Gamescom Opening Night Live, hosted by Geoff Keighley. One report says the first look will be presented on August 23, while another places the reveal at Gamescom 2026 next month and names Gamescom Opening Night Live as the event where the preview will be shown. The publisher also plans an on-site presence at Gamescom, including a guided presentation at its booth over the course of the convention.
CD Projekt Red also states that Songs of the Past is the studio’s third expansion for the 2015 release, following Geralt of Rivia on a new quest. Additional creative and gameplay details remain limited in the available reporting. Development is co-led with Fool’s Theory, a studio made up of veteran developers who have previously worked on The Witcher 3.
For release, CD Projekt Red targets PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2027. Separately, it has indicated the expansion will not support or be tested on Windows 10 going forward, though it says this does not necessarily mean the game will not run on the older operating system.
