The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) hands over forfeited land at the Goodluck Jonathan Estate in Kaba District, Abuja to the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN). The transfer takes place on Tuesday at the estate site and is carried out under a final forfeiture order issued by the Federal High Court. According to reports, the properties cover about 27.92 hectares and are transferred to FMBN as the “victim organisation” identified in the court order.
The land is linked to a 2012 FMBN housing project intended to deliver 962 housing units. Sources say the project was financed through a $65 million loan obtained by Good Earth Power Nigeria Limited in partnership with an American firm. ICPC investigations allege the loan was diverted, that no houses were built, and that some funds were moved overseas through bureaux de change. ICPC initiates both civil and criminal actions; the civil case is reported to be concluded while the criminal prosecution continues.
On December 11, 2025, the Federal High Court in Abuja orders forfeiture of two plots in Cadastral Zone D12, directing ICPC to hand them over to FMBN and to work with FMBN through a joint committee to supervise completion and allocation of the 962 housing units.
