One account says several areas in Palghar receive triple-digit rainfall totals, with some reports exceeding 200 mm.
The rainfall is also increasing water storage across Mumbai’s network of seven supplying lakes. Sources report that lake stocks rise as overflow events occur at key reservoirs. Modak Sagar lake is reported to have reached full supply level and overflowed, while another report says Tansa Lake overflows and contributes to increased levels in Vihar and Tulsi. As a result, reported water reserves in Mumbai are described as climbing to about 62% capacity in one update and higher in another (with Modak Sagar overflow cited alongside increased overall stocks).
A separate mention indicates a potential easing of heavy rains in Palghar on Friday, offering a short-term reprieve.
