Femi Otedola, chairman of First HoldCo Plc, increases his ownership in the company through the purchase of additional shares valued at N77.58 billion. According to filings and insider share-dealing details reported by multiple outlets citing the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), Otedola acquires 706.13 million First HoldCo shares, lifting his stake from 20.42% to 21.96%. The transactions increase the number of shares he holds from 9.28 billion to 9.99 billion.

The purchases are made through his investment vehicle, Calvados Global Services Limited. One report also notes that following the acquisition, Otedola’s total investment in First HoldCo is valued at about N1.04 trillion, compared with an earlier valuation on June 18. Another report previously states that Otedola’s stake is approaching the largest shareholder position held by RC Investment, which controls 22.94% of the company. The reported acquisition places Otedola roughly about one percentage point away from that threshold.
