The Red Bulls score once to make it 3-1 but do not prevent Philadelphia from securing the result.
The win moves the Union to 2-10-4 for the season. Philadelphia enters the World Cup break winless in eight consecutive games, according to reports, and the victory is described as their first since a 2-1 win at Montreal on April 11.
