Ucom supports the installation of a 15 kW solar power plant at the Vayk Sports School in Vayk, Armenia. The company says the project is aimed at improving energy efficiency and sustainability for the school, and at helping redirect energy-cost savings toward better conditions for children. Ucom’s general director, Ralph Yirikian, states that investment in green technologies is also intended to strengthen the long-term viability of community institutions.
According to PanArmenian.net, the sports school already has solar generation in place: a 5 kW solar power plant was previously installed using community funding. The new 15 kW installation therefore represents an expansion of the school’s existing solar capacity.
