The reported decision comes amid a busy theatrical calendar around the same time. A week before “Prahaar,” “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is slated to hit theatres, and a week after, “Batwara 1947” and “Awarapan 2” are scheduled for release, creating a crowded market.
One report also notes that Maddock Films was expected to have two releases in August—“Prahaar” (August 7) and “Eetha” (August 28)—and earlier reports suggested “Eetha” might be shifted to avoid a clash with “Toxic” on August 26, though those changes are also described as unconfirmed officially. “Prahaar” is directed by Avinash Arun and is reported to be based on advocate Ujjwal Nikam’s landmark cases related to the 1993 Bombay Blasts and the 2008 Mumbai 26/11 attacks.
