The statements also indicate that decisions on any future changes to ethanol blending levels would be made only after additional studies and consultations. According to the government’s position cited by multiple outlets, there have been no widespread adverse impacts reported from the use of E20 fuel so far.
One report also notes that premium fuels have specialised formulations for high-performance vehicles and make up a small share of overall petrol sales, described as about 0.5%. Overall, the clarification emphasizes continuity for premium petrol supply and limits ethanol-related changes to the government’s existing 20% blending approach for regular petrol.
