Amul, marketed by Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), raises milk prices by ₹2 per litre across major variants nationwide starting May 14. Multiple outlets report the change applies to “fresh pouch milk” across key pack sizes and brands under Amul, including variants such as Amul Gold and Amul Taaza. GCMMF attributes the increase to higher operating and production costs, citing rises in cattle feed, milk packaging film, and fuel over the past year.

The sources also say this is the second price increase by the two dairy cooperatives—Amul and Mother Dairy—within 13 months, with the previous hike having been implemented on May 1, 2025. In addition to retail price changes, GCMMF states farmers’ procurement prices increase by ₹30 per kg of fat, described as a 3.7% rise compared with May 2025. The reported overall effect is about 2.5% to 3.5% per litre, with GCMMF indicating it is lower than average food inflation. Several reports add that other regional dairy companies may follow similar pricing adjustments.
