A wealth manager, Nabila Habiby, is facing potential jail after a fraud case connected to former Premier League footballer Edgar Davids’ art collection. According to court accounts, Davids entrusted Habiby with keys to his home in Hadley Wood, Hertfordshire, placing his trust in her to handle his artworks. Prosecutors say Habiby arranged loans against the collection, totalling about £31,500, using 37 paintings and other works of art valued at approximately £188,000. The allegation is that the art collection was then effectively pawned or secured to obtain the loans. One report says Habiby attempted to resolve the matter by entering a guilty plea, but later failed to withdraw that plea, leaving the case to proceed to sentencing and increasing the likelihood of imprisonment.
