Delhi Police forms a Special Task Force (STF) within its Crime Branch to investigate paper leaks and other offences related to public examinations. The unit is created with approval from the Commissioner of Police, Delhi, and is mandated to carry out prompt, professional, and comprehensive investigations. The STF operates under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, and is tasked with probing alleged irregularities connected to competitive tests conducted by agencies such as UPSC, SSC, and NTA, along with other recruitment-related examinations including those conducted for RRBs and IBPS. The task force is headed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Crime Branch, Delhi Police, with administrative supervision under the Special Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch. According to Delhi Police, the STF also coordinates with prosecuting agencies to support expeditious prosecution and day-to-day trial processes. The initiative is presented as a step toward protecting the integrity, transparency, and fairness of public examinations, following broader public concern about paper leak allegations and examination-related frauds.
