Reeves also indicates that, despite canceling the session, Mississippi is still expected to redraw congressional districts at some point before the 2027 elections. He says it would be difficult to complete congressional redistricting in time for the November midterm elections and that attempting to do so could affect electoral outcomes, including potentially benefiting or harming Republicans in congressional races.
