Saudi Arabia’s Directorate of Civil Defense announces that the danger it previously warned about in Yanbu Governorate has now passed. In a statement and social media post on Saturday morning, the Civil Defense authority advises residents to continue following its instructions, including avoiding gathering and filming, and to call the emergency number 911 in case of an emergency.
The warning follows a period of repeated alerts issued by the Civil Defense directorate, with the “danger passed” message arriving minutes after a third alert within a few hours. The broader context includes fighting in the Red Sea theatre. Yemen’s Houthis state on Telegram that a “Yemeni missile strike” sparked fires in Jizan, another Red Sea city in Saudi Arabia.
The Civil Defense warnings also come after the Saudi-led coalition said Friday it struck Houthi sites and destroyed targets it described as threatening commercial vessels. Separate reporting cited by AFP indicates targets included a naval base in the port city of Hodeida and a military camp on Kamaran island.
