The Office of the Ombudsman files criminal charges before the Sandiganbayan against lawmakers linked to an alleged flood-control and infrastructure project controversy. According to the reports, USWAG Ilonggo Partylist Representative James Ang Jr. faces 14 counts of graft. The Ombudsman also files graft charges against former Sultan Kudarat’s 2nd District Representative Arnulfo Go, along with three other respondents, who are charged with two counts of graft.
In addition to the graft allegations, the reports state that the same group of respondents is also charged with two counts of malversation. The cases are tied to allegations involving conflicts of interest connected to government infrastructure projects, which form the basis of the criminal complaints filed by the Ombudsman.
The filings represent the Ombudsman’s formal step in pursuing criminal accountability through the Sandiganbayan, as the matter proceeds under Philippine anti-graft and related laws.
