Palestinian sources report that an Israeli airstrike kills Brigadier-General Abdel-Nasser al-Maqadma, head of the northern Gaza police force, also described as the governor of northern Gaza. The health ministry in Gaza, as well as police and interior ministry-linked sources, say he is killed in an attack on the Sheikh Radwan area north of Gaza City. Some reports describe al-Maqadma as a senior Hamas-led police figure, while Israel’s position, as cited in multiple outlets, is that he is connected to Hamas’s military wing.
In addition to al-Maqadma’s death, medics report another fatality in central Gaza: a Palestinian medic is killed in an attack on Nuseirat refugee camp. The reports also mention that a police officer later dies of wounds sustained during an earlier attack the previous week.
Several sources note that in recent months Israel has killed multiple members of Gaza’s police force, including senior figures, which Israel links to Hamas. The accounts rely on Palestinian medical and official statements and do not include an independent confirmation of al-Maqadma’s role beyond these descriptions.
